Understand the Challenge
Identify the situations that interrupt confidence, composure, communication, and decision-making. When available, game film helps reveal observable performance patterns.
Every athlete faces mistakes, pressure, and adversity. TrueFrame Athletics helps athletes develop practical, repeatable responses through the FRAME Reset Method, competition-film analysis, realistic pressure scenarios, and performance-focused coaching.
TrueFrame Athletics provides mental-performance and adversity-response coaching for athletes across all sports. Our approach adapts to the specific challenges of each sport and athlete.
A missed free throw, a dropped pass, a missed serve, a costly turnover, a strikeout, a lost match: every sport has its hard moments. TrueFrame adapts the training to the sport, the role, and the situations each athlete actually faces.
No athlete avoids mistakes, pressure, or setbacks. What shapes the next play is the response, and a response is something an athlete can practice.
Turnovers, misses, errors, and setbacks happen to every athlete. What matters most is what happens in the seconds that follow.
Resetting, refocusing, and committing to the next action can be learned and rehearsed like any other part of performance.
Realistic pressure scenarios, film observations, and coach input help athletes build responses they can use when it counts.
Start with one athlete or bring in a whole program. Every format uses the same practical approach: find the moment, train the response, and apply it in competition.
One-on-one mental-performance coaching built around the athlete's sport, role, and the moments that are hardest for them.

TrueFrame Athletics helps athletes across sports develop practical, repeatable responses to mistakes, pressure, confidence loss, role changes, and adversity. Our FRAME system gives athletes tools they can rehearse and use when competition becomes difficult.
Identify the situations that interrupt confidence, composure, communication, and decision-making. When available, game film helps reveal observable performance patterns.
Use the FRAME method to develop reset routines, attention cues, communication habits, and committed next-play actions.
Apply the routines in practice and competition. Athlete reflection, coach observations, and available film help evaluate progress and guide further development.

Competition will never be perfect. The goal is not to eliminate difficult moments. The goal is to develop a better response to them.
Recognize what happened without allowing the moment to control what happens next.
Interrupt the negative emotional or mental response.
Return attention to a controllable cue, action, breath, word, assignment, or responsibility.
Physically and mentally re-engage with the competition.
Make the next decision with commitment.
TrueFrame observes coaching and performance markers—not psychological diagnoses.
When competition film is available, it shows what actually happens after a mistake: the hesitation, the body language, the communication, and how quickly the athlete re-engages. Those observations become part of the athlete's development plan, and we return to film and coach observations to see whether the behaviors are changing.
How quickly does the athlete mentally and behaviorally recover after a mistake?
Does a difficult moment affect the next play, possession, rep, or decision?
Does the athlete recognize an opportunity and commit to the decision, or hesitate?
How does the athlete respond when pressure increases?
What happens physically after mistakes, setbacks, or frustration?
How quickly does the athlete return to productive competition?
Does communication disappear or improve when the athlete experiences adversity?
Can the athlete return attention to the present play instead of remaining stuck on the previous one?
Can the athlete apply their training when the situation becomes more difficult?
TrueFrame does not promise perfect performances. We help athletes develop better responses and more consistent performance behaviors.
TrueFrame works alongside the people already invested in an athlete's development.
Athletes who want a better response to mistakes, pressure, and setbacks, and the families who support them.

Founder & Mental Performance Coach
Richard Cooks founded TrueFrame Athletics to help athletes develop practical, repeatable responses to mistakes, pressure, adversity, and the challenges of competition.
With a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Richard combines behavioral science, performance leadership, and years of athlete development and coaching experience.
His background also includes supporting soldiers preparing for overseas deployment and helping individuals perform effectively in demanding, high-pressure situations.
Through TrueFrame's FRAME system, realistic pressure scenarios, and competition-film observations, Richard helps athletes build responses they can practice, apply, and measure.
Our focus is simple: Mistakes Don't Define You. We Train What Happens Next.
Connect With Richard →Whether it's one athlete, a team, or a whole program, getting started is straightforward.
Tell us about the athlete or team, the sport, and what you're seeing in competition.
We discuss goals, the moments that are hardest, and whether individual coaching, a workshop, or a team program fits best.
We shape a practical plan around the sport, the schedule, and any available film or coach observations.
Athletes rehearse FRAME in realistic pressure situations, apply it in practice and competition, and we review what is changing.
Competition will challenge every athlete. The question is what happens next. TrueFrame helps athletes develop the confidence, composure, resilience, and response skills needed when competition gets difficult.
